Jonathan Turner is a New York based artist and director working in film, video, animation and photography.

After working for architects Diller + Scofidio, he became interested in how digital media intersects with performance and installation and has been exploring the rituals, cycles, and technology of the human and natural world as a solo artist and as a member of the art collective Yemenwed.

Turner has collaborated with musicians Glasser, Dutch E Germ and Pandreas, artists Pierre Soulage and Tauba Auerbach, and fashion designers Hood by Air and Telfar.

Through his solo practice and work with Yemenwed, Turner’s work has been exhibited at the Perez Art Museum, Miami; Tate Modern, London; MoMA, New York; MoMA P.S.1, New York; MOCA, Los Angeles; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; MAD, New York.

He has a special interest in Japan, which has led him to direct, with Sam Cole, the documentary, Danchi no yume, about the Hip Hop artist Anarchy.
