The Panasonic Technics SL-1200 is the most beloved product in music history. For the first time in 11 years, the SL-1200 MK7 is the first added edition to the SL-1200 series. For its landmark release, we produced a pretty cool video.

The video was shown at the world’s biggest consumer electronic show (CES) in Las Vegas. Featuring hip hop icons Pete Rock and DJ Kool Herc as fellow New Yorkers, we just knew the kind of vibe to bring when we filmed them.

This is our second video we produced for the SL-1200 and second time working with DJ Kool Herc. The first video was showcased at several creative award events, including at the Cannes Festival. It’s a very exciting time for Technics. We join the DJ community, radio stations, clubs, hip-hop and all-around music lovers in the thrill of the revival of the SL-1200.

A special acknowledgement to Mr. Ryuta Kimura of Dentsu Inc. with whom we have worked very closely on the Technics projects. He is the celebrated copywriter behind the video for Technics/Panasonic Corporation, “The Philharmonic Turntable Orchestra”. The short form film won the 2018 Clio Music Silver. In the same manner, we are honored to collaborate with Mr. Takuji Okamoto, producer of this epic body of work.
